Standing Committees

The work of the MCAM is supported through standing committees, advisory councils and working groups, which report to the board of directors.

Standing Committees provide in-depth examination in areas aligned with the objectives of MCAM Strategic Plan.

MCAM Standing Committees are:

I. Executive Committee

The Executive Committee provides recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding issues related to the Governance structure of the Association, MCAM membership considerations (approvals and suspensions), Annual Budget recommendations, Apprenticeship consultation and surveys, Hiring and performance review of the Executive Director, Strategic Plan development.

II. Government and Industry Relations Committee (GIRC)

The Government and Industry Relations Committee Engages stakeholders and strengthens the Voice of MCAM with Government and Industry Partners. The committee provides leadership to emerging issues impacting the Mechanical industry and represents MCAM in joint meetings with government officials.

III. Membership Committee

The Membership Committee makes recommendation to the Board of Directors regarding programming and strategies focused on providing additional value to existing and attracting new membership. The Committee also oversee the MCAM Charity policy and MCAM membership standards.

IV. Education Committee

The Education Committee provides recommendation to the Board of Directors regarding programming delivering Educational value to MCAM membership and the Industry at large. In addition to one-day course offerings, the committee oversee the planning of MCAM Education Week - leading Industry professional identifying relevant and emerging educational needs specific to the Mechanical Contractor.

V. Social Committee

The Social Committee provides recommendations to the Board of Directors on activities of the association related to enhancing networking and relationship building of MCAM Members. Committee members play a critical role in the planning and resource development of all Committee Events. The Committee also oversees the Marc Lynch Scholarship Program and Christmas Hamper Program.
